On November 11, 2011 Facebook removed the discussion tab from all pages. The application Discussions was very useful because it allowed anyone to open new topics and reply to those already sent, a space was created online where anyone could contribute. The authors of the discussions would be notified when someone answered their questions and all this information was indexed by search engines to be easily found.
Facebook, however, noticed that a small percentage of users were using the discussion board so they therefore decided to remove it and leave the board as a tool where all the pages can still send a message and respond. The problem is that a board is not a forum, if the page has a lot of members or public messages sent today a lot of content from the bulletin board could disappear in a few hours and no one would notice. Also a response to a message board does not appear at the top of the board, as it did in the discussions.
The function of the Forum is therefore very important and useful for administrators of pages. That’s why today we announce an application that creates a forum in your pages.
The application is called: Forum for Pages and add it to your pages. You just need to visit this link: https://apps.facebook.com/forumforpages/ from the pulldown menu choose the page (which you are administrators ) where you want to add the forum.
Try it and let us know what you think.
